Job Description
An Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems used in industrial facilities. Their duties include inspecting control panels, sensors, transmitters, motors, and electrical equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. They troubleshoot electrical and instrument faults, replace damaged components, and perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime. I&E Technicians also read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to complete installation and repair work accurately. They calibrate instruments, test system performance, and maintain maintenance records. In addition, they follow workplace safety procedures, comply with electrical standards, and work with maintenance and production teams to keep plant operations running smoothly.
