Electricians in Germany are highly trained professionals who provide expertise and technical knowledge to install, maintain and repair electrical systems. Their primary duties include reading blueprints and schematics, working with wiring systems, making sure that the job meets safety requirements, providing maintenance on existing equipment, troubleshooting problems and testing new systems. To become a professional electrician in Germany one needs to complete an apprenticeship program which usually takes 3-4 years. The apprenticeship consists of both classroom theory as well as practical training where the apprentice learns how to properly use tools like pliers, multimeters and wire strippers under supervision of a qualified electrician. After completing the program with all necessary exams successfully passed one is awarded with a skilled craftsman certificate for electrician.
