Is there demand for driver jobs in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar?

Yes. Our reading of the research puts driver and logistics work among the largest job groups, with heavy drivers, delivery riders and warehouse staff named as examples, and logistics and e-commerce growth as the demand signal. That ranking is the author's analysis, not measured search data.

The numbers behind it: Pakistan sent 317,436 workers abroad in the first half of 2026, 58 percent to Saudi Arabia (183,951), then the UAE (50,773) and Qatar (34,025), according to TechJuice, using Bureau of Emigration plus Overseas Employment Corporation data. No count by occupation was published, so we cannot say how many were drivers.

Gulf News reported that overseas job demand was largely unaffected by the US-Iran conflict of 28 February to late March 2026. Searches such as driver jobs in Saudi Arabia are the kind our research expects, and so are comparisons like Qatar vs Saudi salary for drivers. We publish no driver salary comparison, because the research has no driver pay figures.

Which type of driver job is it, and why does that matter?

A driver post can mean a delivery rider, a heavy vehicle driver, a warehouse driver or a family driver. The research treats these differently: logistics drivers sit in the high-volume group, while family drivers fall under domestic work, which it marks as high safety risk and needing strict safeguards.

For skilled workers such as drivers, the research says the main fears are contract substitution and trade test failure. In plain words: you may be offered one job and land to find another, or you may be asked to pass a test you did not expect. Ask for the exact vehicle type and the exact job title in writing.

A family driver works for a household, not a company. The research says domestic workers are largely excluded from the labour reforms reported for Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar. What should I ask before I say yes to a driver job?

Ask which vehicle and job title, who pays for fuel, fines and licence steps, what the pay is in writing, and who keeps your passport. The research does not list licence rules, so get every licence requirement from the employer in writing and never pay a middleman for a licence.

1. 1 Which vehicle, and which role: delivery bike, van, truck, bus or family car? Ask for it in the written offer. A different vehicle on arrival is contract substitution.
2. 2 What licence do you need and who arranges it? The research is silent on driving licence rules for each country, so treat the employer's written answer as the starting point and check it with the official authority.
3. 3 Who pays for fuel, vehicle repairs and traffic fines? Ask before you agree. Fines and deductions can cut wages.
4. 4 What is the pay, with each allowance on its own line? Ask whether delivery incentives are part of it or extra.
5. 5 What are the daily hours and days off? Get the number in writing.
6. 6 Where will you live and how do you get to work? Poor accommodation is a listed problem.
7. 7 Who holds your passport? Our advice: it must be you. A demand for the original passport is a warning sign.
8. 8 Is there any fee for the visa or the job? UAE employers cannot charge recruitment costs, directly or indirectly. Treat a fee request as a red flag.
9. 9 What visa will you travel on? Ask for the visa type in writing and check it with the authority before you fly.

Are there heat rules for delivery riders and drivers?

Yes, for delivery riders. Human Rights Watch (June 2026) reports that the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait ban midday bike deliveries in summer. Saudi Arabia banned outdoor work in direct sunlight from noon to 3pm, 15 June to 15 September in 2025. Confirm current dates with the authority.

The Saudi Press Agency reported the 2025 ban as covering all private-sector firms, with violations reportable on hotline 19911 or the ministry app. We could not open a Saudi Gazette article showing the same window for this year, so check the ministry site. We do not know whether a given driving job counts as outdoor work under that rule.

Human Rights Watch found time-based bans insufficient: interviewed workers in all four countries reported dizziness, fainting, poor access to cool water and pressure to work through hot hours. What comes after you accept a driver offer?

In Pakistan, Emigrant's Protection registration is done at the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment or through a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter. You need your passport, CNIC, visa, employment contract, insurance certificate and medical fitness report, and you pay registration, welfare fund, protector and insurance fees.
