Airport Jobs: what our research says
Airport work is not covered by our research, so we cannot give facts about airport pay, duties or entry rules. What we can do is show what the research says about related sectors, and give you the checks that apply to any offer: who employs you, what is written, and what you pay. Listings above come from employers.
Figures come from our 2026 market research and the sources listed at the end. Where a claim comes from a secondary source, or is our own reading, we say so.
Is there demand for airport jobs in the Gulf?
The research does not name airport jobs. It lists hospitality, with tourism and events as the demand signal, among the main hiring sectors. That is the nearest match. Any airport hiring claim beyond that would be a guess, so we do not make one.
The July 2025 Gulf News roundup, based on DSS HR, names construction, oil and gas, hospitality, healthcare, technology and renewable energy as the main hiring sectors, with giga-projects such as NEOM and the Red Sea Project as multi-year demand. The research groups hospitality with retail and rates it as high volume and transactional, in the author's estimate.
For the wider picture: Pakistan sent 317,436 workers abroad in the first half of 2026, 58 percent to Saudi Arabia (183,951), then the UAE (50,773) and Qatar (34,025), according to TechJuice, using Bureau of Emigration plus Overseas Employment Corporation data. No count by occupation was published.
Who is the real employer in an airport job?
Ask. An airport is one place but a post could come from any company that works there. The research does not describe airport employers, so treat the name on your visa and contract as the only employer that counts, and verify it with the official authority before you pay or travel.
This matters because the research lists contract substitution as a top problem: a different job, pay or location on arrival. If the chat says airport and the paper says something else, do not travel until it is fixed. For the UAE, MOHRE lets you verify an offer on its website or app, or on 600 590000, and a genuine offer carries a serial number and barcode.
The research also says not to trust interviews held only on chat apps, offers from non-official email domains, or requests for bank details or codes. These are among MOHRE's seven red flags (Gulf News).
What should I ask before I say yes to an airport job?
Ask for the employer's name, your exact job, the pay in writing, where you will live, and which documents and clearances the job needs. The research lists no airport-specific requirements, so get the list from the employer in writing. The research lists contract substitution, unpaid wages, poor accommodation, passport confiscation and medical rejection as common problems. Never pay to be placed.
- 1 What is the employer's company name, and does it match the visa and contract? Ask for the job title in writing.
- 2 Which documents and clearances does the job need? The research does not list any for airports. Ask for a written list, and ask who pays for each item.
- 3 What is the pay, with allowances on separate lines? Ask how shift work and night work are paid.
- 4 Where will you live and how do you get to the airport? Poor accommodation is a listed problem.
- 5 Is the job indoors or outdoors? The research heat material is about outdoor work, so ask about shade, water and rest breaks for any outdoor shift.
- 6 Who holds your passport? Our advice: it must be you.
- 7 What happens if the medical says unfit? Ask before you pay for any test.
- 8 Is there any fee? UAE employers cannot charge recruitment costs, directly or indirectly. Treat any fee as a red flag.
Is airport work outdoors, and what about summer heat?
Some airport tasks could be outdoors, but the research does not say which. For outdoor work, Saudi Arabia banned it from noon to 3pm, 15 June to 15 September in 2025. Human Rights Watch found time-based bans insufficient. Ask whether your shift is indoors or outdoors.
Human Rights Watch (June 2026, 20 interviews) reports dizziness, fainting, poor access to cool water and pressure to work through hot hours in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Qatar uses a WBGT threshold of 32.1C to halt outdoor work. Confirm the current Saudi dates on the ministry site; hotline 19911 is for violations of the ban, per the Saudi Press Agency.
If you feel unwell on shift, stop, get to shade, drink water and get medical help. See our heat safety guide.
Airport jobs by country: what the research says
Saudi Arabia takes the most Pakistani workers, then the UAE and Qatar. The rights details below come from a secondary source, AYK Global, and the research asks readers to confirm each on the official portal before relying on it.
| Country | Pakistani departures, H1 2026 | Reported rules | Ask an airport employer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | 183,951 (58%) | Job change possible after contract terms via Qiwa. No exit permission needed since mid-2025 (reported). Passport retention prohibited. | How to check your contract on the official portal. |
| UAE | 50,773 (about 16%) | Employers cannot charge recruitment costs. Job change under Federal Law 33/2021, 90-day grace. No exit permit. | Serial number and barcode, verified with MOHRE. |
| Qatar | 34,025 (about 11%) | No former-employer consent for job change. No exit permit for about 95% of workers. | Outdoor shifts and the WBGT 32.1C threshold. |
Does Ramadan change airport hiring or hours?
The research has no airport data. On Ramadan generally, sources disagree: TalentMate reports reduced hours and fewer postings, while Bayt and recruiters quoted by Khaleej Times say hiring stays strong. Ask any employer about Ramadan hours and Eid pay in writing.
Ramadan working hours and Eid holiday salary are common worker searches in the research. The 2026 Ramadan ran 19 February to 22 March. The 2027 dates are approximate, about early February to early March. See when to apply for Gulf jobs.
Checks that apply to every job
- Never pay for a visa, an offer or a promised job, and never hand over your original passport. See how to check a Gulf job offer.
- In Pakistan, register through the official Emigrant's Protection route. See the [Pakistan emigration process](/guides/pakistan-emigration-process).
- Know your rights once you arrive. See the [Gulf worker rights guide](/guides/gulf-worker-rights-2026).
We list jobs only. We are not a recruiter or a government body, we never charge job seekers, and we never take passports.
