Alila Jabal Akhdar is recruiting a Lifeguard in Ad-Dākhilīyah, Oman. This is a full-time pool and health club role in which the Lifeguard is fully responsible for the health club facilities of the hotel, including the pool area, steam room and gym. The role is about keeping guests safe in and around the pool while giving them a professional, friendly and engaging service. Typical duties include constantly monitoring swimming activities for all guests at the pool area and ensuring they are safe, using appropriate rescue techniques if observing swimmers in need of assistance, and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning and administering first aid. Checking the chemical levels in swimming pools and steam rooms and ensuring they are at the required level before guests use the pool, and regularly checking the temperature of the pool to ensure it is at the set standard, are also part of the work. Welcoming guests, assisting them with pool towels and escorting them to sun loungers, briefing every guest using the pool on the rules and regulations and ensuring guests follow them, and ensuring the swimming pool surrounding area is clean and well presented are all required. Keeping sun loungers clean and umbrellas in working shape, in the correct position and fixed properly to their units, putting umbrellas up in the morning and down at night, and collecting towels at the pool, placing them in the laundry and coordinating delivery of towels to the laundry are also part of the role. The Lifeguard also pays extra attention to children, elderly and disabled guests to ensure they are safe, cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas, observes the swimming area for dangerous conditions and unusual activities, reports accidents, injuries, defects and breakages to the supervisor, monitors the pool from the lifeguard chair without leaving pools unattended, and assists the risk and security team to cover unattended shifts.
