Airport loaders are responsible for ensuring that luggage and cargo is loaded onto aircrafts in a timely and efficient manner. This job requires physical fitness as the loading and unloading of bags can be strenuous work. An airport loader must also have excellent communication skills to interact with other workers, pilots, ground crew, and airline managers.

In addition to loading bags, airport loaders may be required to operate equipment such as conveyor belts, tugs or tractors. They must be able to follow safety procedures while operating this equipment in order to avoid accidents or damage to the aircraft or surrounding property. The ability to read shipping labels and understand basic weight distribution is also important for airport loaders in order to ensure that luggage and cargo is loaded properly according to airline regulations.
