Mason

A skilled mason is needed in Kuwait City for block and brick work, plastering and tiling on marine and general construction projects. The mason will lay concrete blocks and bricks for walls and structures, mix mortar and concrete to the required consistency and strength, and build and finish concrete work such as foundations, slabs, columns and beams. The role also covers constructing and repairing block and brick walls, columns and partitions. Walls and ceilings will be plastered for a smooth finish, using cement plaster, screed and rendering, and floor and wall tiles will be installed for a clean, level finish. Where required, the mason will also work on marine structures such as jetties, quays, breakwaters and sea walls. The mason will read drawings and specifications, set out levels, lines and measurements with spirit levels, plumb bobs and string lines, and cut, shape and handle blocks, bricks, tiles and other materials safely. Completed work will be checked for quality, and any defects will be reported. Tools and equipment will be kept in good working order. The mason will follow safety procedures, use PPE, work safely at height and with scaffolding and lifting equipment, and take part in toolbox talks and safety briefings, while coordinating with engineers, foremen and supervisors.

• Experience as a skilled mason in block and brick work, plastering or tiling
• Working knowledge of mortar and concrete mixing and concrete structures
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and set out levels and measurements
• Experience with plastering, screed, rendering and tile installation
• Commitment to safety procedures, PPE use and safe work at height
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, foremen and supervisors
