Drywall Installer and Finisher Specific Skills

Drywall sheets must be measured, cut, fitted, and installed.To protect exterior corners, cut and install metal corner beads.Using a trowel and a broad knife, apply joint compound to joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks.Using a taping machine, cover joints and embed tape in compound.Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and acoustical and coffered ceiling panels.Allow the coat to dry after smoothing out any excess compound.
Apply multiple applications of compound and sand seams and joints between coats.Sheets should be positioned and secured to metal or wooden studs or joists.
